During yesterday’s plenary at the House of Representatives, I moved a motion drawing the federal government’s attention to the gullies in my constituency.

The house adopted the motion by immediately urging the federal government to swiftly proclaim the State of Emergency in the affected areas and offer comprehensive rehabilitation to protect lives and properties.

The House equally requested that the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) act quickly to reconstruct the bridge that connects the Iddo-Okugbe communities with the Awuyemi community and Ayogwiri Ogbona axis of Auchi to Agenebode federal Highways to easy vehicular movement.

I further drew the government’s attention to the environmental hazard in the Etsako Federal constituency as a result of rainfall catastrophes, gully erosion and the destruction of lives and properties, including farms and agricultural produce.

The motion was adopted and the House mandated the relevant government bodies to act Swiftly to salvage the situation.
